After transport, a change in diet, or a change in environment, some horses may experience a more fragile digestive balance.
Edible Clay, presented as a fine powder to be mixed with the feed, offers natural and gentle support to promote gastrointestinal comfort and maintain regular digestion.
It can be used both preventatively during sensitive periods (turning out to pasture, competitions, travel) and as support in cases of temporary digestive imbalance, loss of condition, or temporary discomfort.
As an occasional treatment or over several weeks, it helps preserve the horse's overall digestive well-being.

Directions for use

Edible Clay can be used in two ways, depending on habits and ease of administration:

• Mixed with the feed, ideally with a little water to ensure good homogenization.
• Diluted in water, then administered with a syringe if necessary.

For optimal effectiveness, ensure that clay intake is spaced at least 2 hours apart from any other complementary feed or medication. Clay can indeed absorb certain substances and limit their assimilation.

Dosage

• Adult horse: 60 g per day (i.e., 2 scoops).

• Pony or foal: 30 g per day (i.e., 1 scoop).

A 30 g scoop is provided.

Frequency of application

For occasional support
Use over a few days can be considered for softer droppings, mild bloating, or temporary digestive discomfort. Clay can also be offered after transport, a change in diet, or any event likely to disturb digestive balance.

In anticipation of a risk period
A 2 to 3-week course of treatment can be implemented before or during a period prone to digestive imbalances, for example, when turning out to pasture, during competitions, or a change of living environment.

For regular support
For horses with sensitive digestion, a preventive 7-day course of treatment each month can be beneficial, especially for older horses or those prone to stress.

Additional information: In case of very liquid droppings, the daily dose can be temporarily increased, in agreement with your veterinarian. The treatment can be interrupted as soon as a normal consistency returns.

Complementary care routine
For comprehensive support of digestive comfort, the digestive comfort oil can be used in a gentle massage on the abdomen, for targeted external support. The digestive comfort complementary feed can be offered in parallel, to prolong or reinforce the effects of the clay according to the horse's needs.

Detailed composition

Illite clay
Naturally rich in minerals, illite is distinguished by its absorbent power. It helps to capture certain undesirable substances present in the digestive tract, thus contributing to maintaining a balanced intestinal environment.

Kaolinite clay
Gentle and well-tolerated, kaolinite forms a light protective film on the digestive mucosa. This surface action helps to limit irritation and promotes digestive comfort, especially during sensitive periods.

Montmorillonite clay
Recognized for its strong binding capacity, montmorillonite helps eliminate impurities and supports transit regularity. It also helps maintain good dropping consistency.

INCI : Illite, Kaolin, Montmorillonite.
